How We Handle Objectionable Content
05.21.2007 AD
Have you gone to a children's movie lately or watched a
children's video and wondered why you were watching jokes about sex
and foul language? We seek to be a light in the darkness of a world
of children's entertainment which makes children say, "What's that,
Mommy? Why are all the adults laughing at that?"
While it is
true that we may throw in an occasional bathroom joke or a sequence of
physical humor, those jokes are only in our videos that are made for
adults.
For example,
let's look at a video we made for children, Agents of the Spirit: The Phantom Influence.
In this
video, the only instance of bathroom humor is when the Double Agent
Bug grabs the plunger, which turns into a top-secret phone.
As far
as violence goes, you'll never see the character kicking, punching,
or swinging swords or sticks. Also, there are 6 projectile devices,
and none of them look like a gun. What that means is that your
children won't run around punching, kicking, smacking each other
with sticks, or firing toy guns as a result of watching our videos. If you want to teach those things
to your children, we'll leave that to you.
In our animations, you'll never see
graphic violence or any jokes relating to sex or cursing. At The
Animation Empire, we seek to encourage the moral fiber of our
society, whether we do it by teaching morale behavior or simply by
excluding immoral behavior.

There are many categories of news. The weather is typically presented by a certified meteorologist or, on smaller stations, a less-trained "weatherman" and is considered news. Other news categories are: sports, fashion, society, entertainment, business, cartoon strips, features, lottery numbers, lives of celebrities, advertising, and more. Until the 1970s, when women's lib issues came to the forefront, most newspapers had a "Women's" section devoted entirely to fashion and society news. Papers even printed "cheesecake" feature photos of attractive young women in bikinis, often transmitted by the AP or UPI wire services, illustrating various news events or feature ideas.
